Darren Woodlief

Darren is a doctoral student in the Clinical-Community Psychology program at the University of South Carolina. Since coming to the University of South Carolina, Darren has engaged in several research initiatives under the mentorship of Dr. Patrick Malone and Dr. Nicole Zarrett. Major areas of research interest include innovative statistical methods, adolescent problem behaviors, mindfulness, and smartphone use. Darren is currently a doctoral intern therapist at Lake Psychological Services and Comprehensive Psychological Services in Columbia, SC. His approach to therapy is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Darren also completed his bachelors and masters degrees at the University of South Carolina. He currently resides in Irmo, SC with his fiancée Katie, his son Emerson, and their cat Salvador. He plays multiple instruments and in a number of local bands, most recently with Pocket Buddha, and The Dirty Gone Dolas.
