Cameron completed his B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 2004 and his M.A. in Clinical Health Psychology from Appalachian State University in 2010. He worked as a licensed masters-level staff psychologist for a community mental health center in rural Western North Carolina before accepting the position of Clinical Research Coordinator at Appalachian State in 2011. From 2011 to 2014 he worked with Dr. Kurt Michael and Dr. J.P. Jameson on a federal Title V grant that included a community needs assessment and direct clinical service provision in a school-based mental health program. He was an adjunct faculty member at Appalachian State University, teaching introductory classes in psychology. His areas of interest include diagnosis and treatment of adolescent disorders, school-based mental health, and issues surrounding rural mental health. He is currently a doctoral student at the University of South Carolina, working with Dr. Mark Weist and the School Mental Health Team.
